Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence will host its annual Indian Art Market next weekend.
Vendors will sell original handmade items including jewelry, paintings, carvings, pottery, drawings and prints, basket weavings, rug weavings, sculptures and beadwork.
The art market will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, at the powwow grounds at Haskell, 155 E. Indian Ave. in Lawrence.
The outdoor market will feature about 140 vendors from Arizona, California, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota and Kansas, said Stephanie Fernando, of Haskell’s Facilities Department.
Food vendors will sell items including fry bread and Indian tacos, and student groups will perform at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. each day.
Parking and admission to the art market are free. Pets aren’t allowed on the powwow grounds, with the exception of service animals, Fernando said.
